Lightbridge Says It Received Canadian Patent Allowance for Nuclear Fuel Design

09:28 AM EDT, 03/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Lightbridge ( LTBR ) said Tuesday it received a notice of allowance from the Canadian Intellectual Property Office for a patent covering its nuclear fuel assembly design.

The nuclear fuel technology company said the patent application includes claims related to fuel assemblies using twisted fuel elements arranged in a combined grid structure, as well as reactors using those assemblies.

The patent is applicable to pressurized heavy water reactors, including the CANDU reactor fleet, according to Lightbridge ( LTBR ).

Shares of the company were up 3.4% in Tuesday's premarket activity.
