07:54 AM EDT, 10/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Lilium (LILM) said Tuesday it has completed the first systems power-on test of its all-electric Lilium Jet, MSN 1.
Lilium described the test, completed on the in-production MSN 1 aircraft, as a "significant achievement on the path to first flight and certification."
The power-on test involved applying 900 Volts to power the jet's low-voltage systems, including cockpit display, flight controls, communication, navigation, and surveillance systems.
Lilium said the MSN 1 aircraft will serve as a lab test aircraft, or "ironbird," to verify safety and compliance with airworthiness regulations, while the second jet, MSN 2, which is currently in final assembly, will be the first Lilium Jet to fly with a pilot onboard in early 2025.
Lilium plans to build and test a total of six aircraft before entering service in 2026.
