10:52 AM EDT, 06/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Lilium (LILM) said Wednesday it has completed the first series of tests of its electric jet propulsion unit, reaching maximum thrust on the propulsion unit test bench for the first time.

This achievement marks a significant step toward zero-emission flights and safety verification of the Lilium Jet, the company said.

Lilium said the testing was conducted at Lilium's headquarters near Munich, Germany, using a dedicated propulsion unit test bed designed for aerodynamic and electrical performance evaluation.

Shares of the company were up nearly 2% in recent Wednesday trading.
