Lilium, SEA Milan Airports, Skyports Plan Regional Air Mobility Network in Northern Italy
Jul 23, 2024 1:57 AM

04:44 AM EDT, 07/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Lilium (LILM), SEA and Skyports Infrastructure said Tuesday that they have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a passenger electric vertical take-off and landing network in Italy.

The agreement will see the parties develop regional air mobility routes that serve key locations across Lombardy in Italy.

The parties plan to launch a vertiport network with operators of the Lilium Jet as soon as 2027.

The first route will connect Milan Malpensa Airport - the largest international airport in northern Italy that reported more than 26 million travelers last year - and Milan city center, according to the statement.

Lilium is an electric aircraft manufacturer, while SEA operates Milan's airports. Skyports Infrastructure provides vertiport infrastructure for advanced air mobility.
