08:34 AM EDT, 07/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Lilium (LILM) said Wednesday that it is on track to deliver its first aircraft to customers in 2026 even after delaying the timeline for its initial manned flight to early next year due to supply chain issues.
The electric vertical take-off and landing, or eVTOL, jet manufacturer said it is currently building its first two aircraft at a facility near Munich.
The first aircraft will be used for ground testing, while the second, which includes all major components, will be prepared for its first flight, the company said.
Lilium said it plans to start assembling a third aircraft later this year, with certification flight tests scheduled for next year.
The first delivery location for the Lilium Jet is expected to be announced by the end of the year, Lilium's chief executive officer, Klaus Roewe, said.
Shares of the company were down 4% in recent Wednesday premarket activity.
