11:03 AM EDT, 06/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Lindblad Expeditions ( LIND ) said Wednesday it has added two purpose-built Galapagos expedition vessels to the Lindblad-National Geographic fleet.

The transaction will close in January and the ships will undergo major renovations, the company added.

Lindblad and the National Geographic Society have a partnership to offer expedition cruises through 2040.

Bookings for the new ships will open later this month, and the ships will set sail in early next year, according to Lindblad.

Shares of the company rose 6.1% in recent trading.
