08:45 AM EST, 11/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Lithium Americas (Argentina) ( LAAC ) said on Friday that it will establish its corporate domicile in Switzerland under the new name Lithium Argentina.

The move - which requires approval of shareholders the stock exchange and the court - is expected to occur in early 2025 .A special meeting of shareholders is scheduled for Jan. 17 to approve the plan.

The move will expand financing flexibility and support the company's current business and long-term growth plans through access to various markets and proximity to European customers, Lithium Americas said. The company does not anticipate any material change to its operations or financial results due to the change of domicile.

The company plans continue its TSX and NYSE listings under the LAR symbol.
