09:08 AM EDT, 07/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Lithium South Development ( LISMF ) said Wednesday that it appointed Claudio Zalewski as director of development and construction for the Hombre Muerto North lithium project in Argentina.
Zalewski is a civil engineer with over 40 years of project-delivery experience, including the Pastos Grandes, Centenario and ADY Resources Rincon lithium projects.
"With the groundwork already in place, I'm confident we can reach feasibility swiftly and move toward construction alongside committed funding partners," Zalewski said.
Lithium South said it is working to complete a comprehensive development schedule for the project. The company aims to launch feasibility study tendering before the end of the third quarter and deliver it by late first quarter of 2026.
Lithium South also arranged a US$2 million purchase option of the Hydra X 1 and Hydra X 2 claim blocks near its holdings on the Hombre Muerto Salar. The two projects increase the company's holdings within the project area to over 10,000 hectares.
The company's share price rose 5.3% on Thursday to $0.20 on the TSXV.
