11:51 AM EDT, 09/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Live Nation Entertainment ( LYV ) and its unit Ticketmaster were sued by the US Federal Trade Commission and seven US states for failing to prevent illegal ticket resale practices and deceptive pricing tactics, according to a lawsuit filed Thursday in a California federal court.

The complaint alleged that Ticketmaster is aware of brokers bypassing security measures to purchase event tickets beyond limits and reselling them on its platform, costing consumers billions of dollars in additional fees and markups, according to the court filing.

The regulator is seeking civil penalties against Ticketmaster, according to the lawsuit.

Live Nation Entertainment ( LYV ) and Ticketmaster did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.

Live Nation shares fell 1.3% in recent trading.
