06:43 AM EST, 12/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) said Monday that it launched its seventh Global Positioning System III space vehicle, GPS III SV07, from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida, into orbit 12,550 miles above earth.
The company said that its team has completed signal acquisition of the spacecraft, which is now under operational control at its Denver Launch & Checkout Operations Center until official acceptance into the GPS 31-satellite constellation.
