10:27 AM EDT, 10/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) said Wednesday it will invest $50 million in Saildrone, a maker of maritime drones, to deliver unmanned surface vehicles powered by lethal defense technology for the US Navy.

Live on-water fire demonstrations of the vehicles are expected in 2026, Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) said.

Larger Saildrone vehicles are in development to include the Lockheed Martin Mk70 VLS launcher and thin line towed arrays, Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) said.
