Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $3.71.

Revenue in the three months ended Sept. 30 rose to $3.11 billion from $2.52 billion a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $3.04 billion.

The company's board kept the quarterly dividend at $0.30 a share. The dividend is payable on Dec. 2 to shareholders of record on Nov. 14.

Shares jumped 3% in after-hours activity.
