Engineering and construction conglomerate, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), on Friday reported 37 percent increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 2,042 crore for the quarter ended December 2018, on higher orders.
CNBC-TV18 Polls had predicted a profit of Rs 1,830 crore for the quarter under review.
Its net profit was Rs 1,490 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago, L&T said in a statement.
Revenue from operations during October-December 2018 increased by 24.2 percent to Rs 35,708.9 crore.
The company secured orders worth Rs 42,233 crore at the group level during the quarter ended December 31, 2018. International orders at Rs 11,454 crore constituted 27 percent of the total order inflow, it said.
On a cumulative basis, the order inflow for the nine month ended December 31, 2018 stood at Rs 120,296 crore, growing at 16 percent over the corresponding period of the previous year, the company said in a BSE filing.
