L&T Tech will hire nearly 1000 more freshers before March 2024 ends
Oct 18, 2023 5:43 AM

L&T Technology Services aimed to hire 2,000 new freshers this year. Over 1,000 of them have already been brought on board, with the remaining set to join in the upcoming two quarters, Amit Chadha, the Managing Director and CEO of L&T Technology Services told CNBC-TV18.

The company is already in the early stages of planning recruitment for the next year, ensuring a continuous flow of talent.

The hiring numbers of the information technology (IT) services sector have become a cause for concern with India’s top three companies — TCS, Infosys, and HCL Technologies — reporting a decline of 16,162 employees in their total headcount in the July to September quarter.

Chadha said the company is actively pursuing deals ranging from $25 million to $50 million and even some deals valued at $100 million.

Chadha expects the fourth quarter of FY24 to be similar to, or even better than the second quarter of FY24.

In the second quarter of FY24, L&T Technology Services recorded a 1.4% sequential increase in net profit at ₹315.4 crore, up from ₹3,11.1 crore. The company's revenue for the same period increased by 3.7% on a sequential basis, rising to ₹2,386.5 crore from the previous quarter's ₹2,301.4 crore.

However, the company cut its FY24 revenue growth (constant currency) growth guidance to 17.5-18.5% year-on-year (YoY) from 20% earlier citing an extended workers' strike in the US, which is causing delays in multiple projects and deferrals in ramping up new projects.

On October 17, the company announced an interim dividend of Rs 17 per equity share with the record date as October 27.
