02:47 PM EDT, 10/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Luca Mining ( LUCMF ) on Thursday confirmed that its operations at the Tahuehueto Gold Project in Durango continue running normally following a recent inspection by Mexico's environmental authority, PROFEPA, as part of a standard environmental oversight process.
During the inspection, Luca noted, PROFEPA requested clarification regarding a small, legacy tailings storage area located near the processing plant. The company said that area is inactive and does not affect the ongoing mining or processing operations.
As part of the administrative process, PROFEPA placed a temporary closure notice to that specific non-operational section pending the submission of updated technical documentation.
Luca Mining ( LUCMF ) said it will develop and submit a remediation plan for the area, which won't disrupt production, noting that the temporary notice applies only to a non-operational section of 0.3 hectares and does not affect current production
The company added it continues to operate normally at both its Tahuehueto and Campo Morado mines, "advancing production, optimization, and sustainability initiatives".
Shares of Luca Mining ( LUCMF ) were last seen down by $0.055, or 3.6%, to $1.465 on the TSX Venture Exchange, amid broad losses for Canadian equity markets today.
