BERLIN, April 29 (Reuters) - Lufthansa on Tuesday
reported a first-quarter loss in line with expectations as it
faces growing investor concern over knock-on effects to consumer
spending and demand from U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff
threats.
During the first three months of 2025, the German flag
carrier generated an adjusted loss before interest and taxes
(EBIT) of 722 million euros ($822.14 million) compared with a
718-million-euro loss forecast by analysts in a company-led
poll.
The German flag carrier confirmed its outlook for the full
year, forecasting adjusted EBIT to be "significantly higher"
than the previous year, as it warned of uncertainties due to
trade tensions between the United States, Europe and other
regions.
The company said it has set up "a task force to closely
monitor current developments and, if necessary, respond quickly
and flexibly to any weakening in demand, for example by
adjusting capacity".
