10:44 AM EDT, 03/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Lumen Technologies ( LUMN ) said Thursday it has established a 1.2 terabit wavelength service trial with Ciena (CIEN) across 1,800 miles on the former's ultra-low-loss fiber network.

The companies tested the services to support wavelength, IP, and ethernet services over the non-regenerated 1.2 Tbps single carrier channel, according to Lumen Technologies ( LUMN ).

The company said that the achievement will help hyperscalers and enterprises handle the growing AI and cloud workloads and applications in industries such as cybersecurity, media and streaming, and financial trading.
