09:08 AM EDT, 03/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Lumentum ( LITE ) said Thursday it plans to establish a new US manufacturing facility in Greensboro, North Carolina, to produce advanced indium phosphide-based optical components used in large-scale AI data centers, with Nvidia ( NVDA ) among the expected customers.

The 240,000-square-foot facility was acquired from Qorvo ( QRVO ) , along with the workforce, and will be retrofitted to manufacture continuous wave and ultra-high-power lasers, Lumentum ( LITE ) said.

Production at the new facility is expected to ramp up by mid-2028, the company said.

Lumentum ( LITE ) also said it plans to invest hundreds of millions of dollars over the coming years to scale manufacturing at the site.
