Lupaka Gold Requests US$67 Million Award Payment From Peru's Government For the Invicta Project
Oct 30, 2025 1:34 PM

03:59 PM EDT, 10/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Lupaka Gold ( LPKGF ) , up 8% on last look, said Thursday it has requested immediate payment of US$67 million from the Peruvian government.

Lupaka was awarded US$65 million by the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) last June, as compensation for the loss of the Invicta project, which has been at the center of an illegal blockade since October 2018. The company said in December 2019 it was unable to continue mining, shipping and processing the mine's mineralization, and did not receive any assistance from Peruvian officials, despite repeated requests.

According to a statement, the Peruvian government had 120 days from the date of the award to request an annulment. That period expired on Oct. 28, without such a request being filed.

Lupaka Gold ( LPKGF ) is up $0.02 to $0.26 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
