Main Street Originates $196.2 Million in Q2 New, Increased Private Loan Commitments

08:02 AM EDT, 07/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Main Street Capital ( MAIN ) said Thursday it originated $196.2 million in new or increased private loan commitments in Q2.

The company also said it funded $188.6 million in total investments across its private loan portfolio during the period.

Key transactions included loans and credit facilities to a power systems provider, a telecom services firm, and a plastics manufacturer, the company said.

As of June 30, Main Street said its private loan portfolio included total investments at cost of about $2 billion across 87 companies.

First lien debt made up 94.7% of the portfolio, with the remainder in equity or other securities, Main Street added.
