11:42 AM EDT, 03/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Major US internet service providers are required to display labels providing information such as the cost and speed of their services starting April 10 to help consumers decide which service to get, the Federal Communications Commission said.
Consumers should look for broadband labels at any point of sale, including online and in stores, the regulator said.
While many providers will begin displaying their labels in April, providers with less than 100,000 subscribers have until Oct. 10 to comply with the rules, the FCC said.
Reuters reported that Verizon Communications ( VZ ) will begin providing the labels Wednesday.
Verizon did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
