09:35 AM EDT, 07/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Manulife Financial ( MFC ) said Wednesday that it has closed approximately $810 million in commitments to Manulife Private Equity Partners II, the second private equity fund of funds raised by Manulife Investment Management.

The company said the fund was seeded with an existing portfolio selected with Carlyle Group (CG) subsidiary AlpInvest that consists of private equity fund interests and co-investments in North American buyout funds.

The fund's management team will be led by Richard Tarr, Manulife Investment Management's managing director of private equity funds.
