Manulife Says "Raising the Bar" On New Financial Targets

05:15 PM EDT, 06/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Manulife Financial ( MFC ) after trade Monday noted it is hosting an Investor Day in Hong Kong and Jakarta, starting at 8:30 a.m. Hong Kong time on June 25 (8:30 p.m. June 24 eastern time).

Ahead of that, Roy Gori, President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife, said the company is "raising the bar" on new financial targets, and increasing its core ROE target to 18% plus by 2027.

In addition, given the strength of its cash generation, it is introducing a new target on remittances, where the company expects to generate more than $22 billion of cumulative remittances by the end of 2027.

Manulife shares closed up $0.62 to $35.79 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
