Maple Leaf Foods Q3 Adjusted Earnings Rise on Improved Market Conditions
Nov 13, 2024 11:13 AM

06:52 AM EST, 11/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Maple Leaf Foods ( MLFNF ) on Wednesday reported higher third-quarter adjusted profit on improved pork market conditions and operational efficiencies.

Adjusted operating earnings rose to $73.6 million, or $0.18 per adjusted share, from $70.5 million or $0.13 last year.

Sales increased 1.8% to $1.26 billion. Sales in the Prepared Foods operating unit climbed 2%, while sales in the Pork operating unit rose 1.1%.

For the full year 2024, Maple Leaf Foods ( MLFNF ) expects low single digit revenue growth.

"We continue to be very excited about the benefits of the spin-off of our pork business, and the future of Maple Leaf Foods ( MLFNF ) and Canada Packers as independent, public companies," said CEO Curtis Frank. "The prospect of executing the transaction as a tax-free spin-off is a positive development as we continue to advance our strategy to unlock value and unleash the potential of these two unique and distinct businesses."
