05:56 PM EST, 03/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Marathon Digital ( MARA ) said Tuesday it produced 833 bitcoins in February, up 22% from the same month last year, but down 23% from January.

"The operational challenges that commenced in January, continued into February and reduced our operational hash rate and our bitcoin production for the month," Marathon Chair and Chief Executive Fred Thiel said.

"Our team is actively working with our hosting providers to bring sites back to full strength and to make the necessary repairs to mitigate these issues in the future," he said.

The company said it had $1.46 billion in unrestricted cash, cash equivalents, and bitcoins as of Feb. 29.
