10:38 AM EDT, 04/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Marathon Digital ( MARA ) said Thursday it produced 894 bitcoins in March, up 8% from a year earlier and 7% higher compared with the output in February.

The firm said it had 17,381 BTC on its balance sheet, and combined cash and bitcoin holdings were about $1.6 billion in March.

Marathon also said it managed to increase its average operational hash rate by 4% in March to 18.3 exahash.

Shares of the company were more than 2% higher in recent trading.
