07:22 AM EDT, 08/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Adobe (ADBE) Microsoft ( MSFT ) , and Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed OpenAi are backing a proposed California law that would require watermarks in the metadata of images, video, and audio generated by artificial intelligence tools, TechCrunch reported Monday, according to letters it examined.

The California Digital Content Provenance Standards bill under consideration by lawmakers would also require large social media platforms like Meta's (META) Instagram or X to clearly label AI-generated content.
