12:11 PM EST, 11/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Advanced Micro Devices ( AMD ) and Cisco Systems ( CSCO ) have agreed to form a joint venture with Saudi Arabian artificial intelligence start-up Humain to build data centers in the Middle East, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing the chief executives of the three companies.
The unnamed joint venture has also landed its first customer, generative video startup Luma AI, which will purchase about 100 megawatts of computing capacity from the first data center project in Saudi Arabia, according to Humain CEO Tareq Amin, the report said.
The 100 megawatts build out is planned for construction in 2026 with Cisco ( CSCO ) providing the necessary networking equipment and AMD providing its MI450 AI chips, Amin said, adding that the data center will operate on renewable energy, according to the report.
AMD and Cisco ( CSCO ) will be minority shareholders in the venture and Humain will take the lead, AMD CEO Lisa Su said, according to the report.
AMD and Cisco ( CSCO ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
