04:49 AM EDT, 06/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The Boeing ( BA ) 787 aircraft that crashed in Ahmedabad, India, last week likely had its emergency-power generator on prior to the crash, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing preliminary findings from an ongoing investigation.
According to the report, Air India's Boeing 787 manual stated that the emergency system can be deployed automatically if the plane's engines have failed or if its hydraulic system pressures are low.
The findings open a new angle of inquiry into whether the aircraft's engines functioned properly when it took off from the airport, WSJ said.
In an email to MT Newswires, Boeing ( BA ) said it will defer to the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau for any information about the investigation.
