09:12 AM EDT, 04/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alaska Air Group ( ALK ) Chief Financial Officer Shane Tackett said the carrier is focused more on the quality and safety of Boeing's ( BA ) 737 Max planes and is not concerned about the production rate of the jetliners, Reuters reported Thursday.
Tackett reportedly said in an interview that Alaska Air ( ALK ) expects additional delays in Boeing's ( BA ) Max 10 program, but there is no update on the certification timeline.
Alaska Air ( ALK ) was forced to ground its Max 9 fleet for weeks after a door plug on one of its planes blew out midair in January. The grounding led to a first-quarter loss for the company.
Alaska Air ( ALK ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
