11:51 AM EDT, 03/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Alibaba ( BABA ) has introduced a central processing unit chip called the XuanTie C950 that has been designed to handle multi-step tasks carried out by artificial intelligence agents, CNBC reported Tuesday.
The CPU can achieve over 30% improvement in performance compared to some mainstream products and can be customized for specific inference patterns, according to the report.
The XuanTie C950 is based on the RISC-V architecture which is a blueprint that can be used for free as opposed to CPU blueprint created by rival Arm Holdings ( ARM ) , that companies pay royalties to use, CNBC said.
Alibaba ( BABA ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
