07:36 AM EDT, 03/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Alibaba Group ( BABA ) is creating a new division to house its artificial intelligence services and development efforts in an attempt to make AI more profitable, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing a company memo it viewed.

The research team that develops Alibaba's ( BABA ) Qwen models, its consumer-facing app unit, and other major AI-related products are all headed to the new division, which will be called Alibaba Token Hub and will be headed by Chief Executive Eddie Wu, the report said.

Alibaba ( BABA ) didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
