08:09 AM EDT, 10/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) faces a defamation lawsuit from rightwing American activist Robby Starbuck over allegations that its artificial intelligence tools incorrectly connected him to sexual assault claims and to a white nationalist, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing court filings.

Starbuck seeks more than $15 million in damages, the report said.

A Google ( GOOG ) spokesman was quoted by the Journal as saying that many of the claims relate to inaccuracies provided by Google's ( GOOG ) AI tool Bard in 2023, which have since been corrected.

Google ( GOOG ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
