10:58 AM EST, 02/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) is facing charges from the European Union for allegedly breaching Digital Markets Act rules after proposed changes to its search results failed to address regulators' and rivals' concerns, Reuters reported Friday, citing people with direct knowledge of the matter.

The European Commission has been probing Google ( GOOG ) for potential breaches of the DMA since March 2024, according to the report.

Alphabet and the European Commission did not immediately reply to requests for comment from MT Newswires.

Shares were over 1% lower in recent trading.
