Market Chatter: Alphabet's Google Facing $14.9 Million Fine in Turkey Over Hotel Searches

05:53 AM EDT, 06/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) was slapped with a fine of about 482 million Turkish lira ($14.9 million) after failing to complete certain obligations over hotel searches on its platform, Reuters reported Monday, citing the Turkish competition regulator.

According to the report, Google ( GOOG ) was unable to address the regulator's concerns regarding fair competition with local search platforms in Turkey.

Google ( GOOG ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
