02:20 PM EDT, 07/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOGL, GOOG) Isomorphic Labs is preparing to start human trials of its artificial intelligence-designed drugs, Fortune said Monday, citing Isomorphic Labs President Colin Murdoch.

Isomorphic Labs was born out of Google DeepMind's AlphaFold, an AI-system capable of predicting protein structures accurately, the report said, adding that AlphaFold can now model how proteins interact with other molecules like DNA and drugs, which is useful in drug discovery.

Fortune said Isomorphic Labs has signed deals with major pharmaceutical companies such as Novartis (NVS) and Eli Lilly (LLY), and has been working in areas like oncology and immunology.

Isomorphic Labs did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
