01:28 PM EDT, 03/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) appealed a 32 million euro ($34.6 million) fine imposed by France's data watchdog in January for monitoring employee activity and performance, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing an emailed company statement.
"We strongly disagree with the CNIL's conclusions, which are factually incorrect, and have appealed this decision to the Conseil d'Etat," Amazon ( AMZN ) said in the statement, according to Bloomberg.

The company was also fined for not properly informing employees or external visitors of video surveillance and for not keep such a system sufficiently secure.
Amazon ( AMZN ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
