08:42 AM EDT, 10/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) is considering only wind and solar to offer renewable power for projects in Asia, Bloomberg reported Friday.

The company, which wants to use nuclear power in the US, said it is looking at wind and solar power in Asia because it's not yet possible to obtain nuclear power in the region, Bloomberg reported.

"There's no question that in this part of the world renewables remain the most available, scalable, affordable and mature technology that we can turn to today," Ken Haig, Amazon Web Services' APAC regional head of energy and environmental policy, told Bloomberg.

Amazon ( AMZN ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
