11:38 AM EDT, 03/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) has offered advertisers incentives to shift their ad spending to its ad-buying platform and away from rivals such as Alphabet's (GOOG) Google and Trade Desk (TTD), The Information reported Tuesday, citing a media buyer and an advertising technology executive.
Earlier this year, Amazon ( AMZN ) cut the fees it charges for its service to 1% from 5% to 7%, the report said. The tech giant has also offered discounts to marketers who use Amazon Web Services if they also use Amazon's ( AMZN ) ad-buying platform, the report said.
The company was offering its ad-buying tools for no fee to advertisers with certain ad buys on Amazon ( AMZN )-owned media and 1% fees on some ad buys on media owned by others, said Kelly MacLean, vice president of Amazon ( AMZN ) ads, according to the report.
Amazon ( AMZN ) didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
