08:18 AM EDT, 06/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) plans to introduce a conversational artificial intelligence, or AI, version of its Alexa service called "Remarkable Alexa," with a premium version priced between $5 and $10 per month, Reuters reported Friday, citing people with direct knowledge of the company's plans.

The project, dubbed internally as "Banyan," has two tiers of service and an August deadline, the report said. Chief Executive Officer Andy Jassy is actively involved and plans could change depending on how the project progresses, the report added.

The paid version reportedly could handle complex tasks like composing and sending emails, as well as ordering food from Uber Eats.

Amazon ( AMZN ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
