Market Chatter: Amazon to Increase Scrutiny of Disabled Employees Working From Home
Nov 13, 2024 6:09 AM

08:35 AM EST, 11/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) is launching tougher rules for employees with disabilities to obtain permission to work from home or renew current approvals in an effort to get its workers back into the office, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.

Workers must now submit to a "multilevel leader review" and could potentially be forced to return to the office for trial periods, the report said.

A spokesperson told Bloomberg that the company is undergoing a "transition," but that Amazon ( AMZN ) continues to "believe that the advantages of being together in the office are significant."

Amazon ( AMZN ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
