Sep 13, 2024 10:28 PM

04:53 AM EDT, 09/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon's ( AMZN ) and Walmart's (WMT) Flipkart have been found in violation of Indian competition rules by the country's antitrust regulators, Reuters reported Friday, citing internal documents it has examined.

The Competition Commission of India is accusing the companies of granting preference on their shopping platform vendors with which they had business arrangements, Reuters reported.

Reuters cited lengthy Aug. 9 Competition Commission reports on both companies, which have been under investigation since 2020.

Amazon ( AMZN ) and Walmart did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
