11:02 AM EDT, 06/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com's ( AMZN ) Amazon Web Services is set to update its AI cloud service Bedrock to facilitate the development of AI apps, including agents, in a bid to keep up with rivals, The Information reported Thursday, citing a source involved in the project.
The changes include adding tools to Bedrock runtime to allow AI models hosted on other companies' clouds to run on Bedrock, according to the report.
Rivals such as Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) and Microsoft ( MSFT ) have been more flexible about allowing customers to build AI apps using open-source software, the report said.
Amazon Web Services could announce the changes as soon as July, the source told the news outlet.
Amazon Web Services did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
