01:28 PM EDT, 07/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) -backed Anthropic is close to securing up to $5 billion in a new funding round that would value the company at $170 billion, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing a person familiar with the situation.

The round is being led by investment firm Iconiq Capital and is expected to raise between $3 billion and $5 billion, the person told Bloomberg.

Anthropic has also held talks with the Qatar Investment Authority and Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC about participating in the round, the report said.

Anthropic, Iconiq Capital, Qatar Investment Authority, and GIC didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
