Market Chatter: Amazon's Advertising System Erroneously Charged Sellers for Ads of Unavailable Products
Mar 14, 2024 6:37 AM

09:00 AM EDT, 03/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com ( AMZN ) acknowledged its advertising system charged online merchants for promoting products that were not available for purchase, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing a spokesperson for the e-commerce company.

The issue was noticed by a seller who reportedly told Bloomberg he was being charged for ads promoting products he no longer sold in California.

"We will similarly contact and refund any affected sellers, and are updating our processes to ensure any such ads are not charged going forward," a company spokesperson reportedly told Bloomberg.

Amazon ( AMZN ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
