01:52 PM EDT, 09/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- American Airlines Group ( AAL ) saw more than 830 flights delayed Wednesday as workers sought to address a technical problem impacting maintenance operations, Bloomberg reported.

The airline did not specify the issue, but said its workers were "actively troubleshooting," according to the report. Delays were reported in Philadelphia, Miami, Chicago, Tampa, and Austin, affecting about 28% of American's mainline flights, Bloomberg said.

The disruption followed hours after United Airlines (UAL) briefly grounded planes due to a technical issue, according to Bloomberg.

American Airlines ( AAL ) and United Airlines did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
