05:20 AM EDT, 08/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amphenol ( APH ) is nearing a deal to acquire CommScope's ( COMM ) broadband connectivity and cable business, known as CCS, in a deal worth about $10.5 billion, including debt, The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter.
The deal could close as soon as Monday, the sources said.
CCS, which provides fiber optic and copper cables for residential broadband, cable TV and data centers, is CommScope's ( COMM ) largest division, generating $2.8 billion in sales in 2024, according to the report.
CommScope ( COMM ) has been selling assets to reduce its heavy debt load, the report said.
Amphenol ( APH ) and CommScope ( COMM ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
Shares of CommScope ( COMM ) rose more than 42% in recent premarket activity Monday. Amphenol ( APH ) shares were up slightly.
