08:06 AM EDT, 07/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Anheuser-Busch InBev's ( BUD ) Bud Light slipped to the number 3 spot of beer dollar sales in US stores in the four weeks ended July 6, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing a NielsenIQ data analysis by the consulting firm Bump Williams.
Constellation Brands' ( STZ ) Mexican import, Modelo Especial, held the top spot representing 9.7% of beer dollar sales in US stores, followed by 7.3% for Michelob Ultra and 6.5% for Bud Light, the report added.
Modelo Especial also outsold Bud Light in dollar sales and sales volume, the report said. Anheuser-Busch InBev ( BUD ) also makes Michelob Ultra.
Sales of Bud Light have declined since April of last year amid a backlash over a social media promotion with the transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, according to multiple media reports.
Neither Anheuser-Busch InBev ( BUD ) nor Constellation Brands ( STZ ) immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
