05:33 AM EDT, 06/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon ( AMZN )-backed (AMZN) Anthropic and the University of Tokyo have partnered to establish the Japan AI Index, an index that will track the impacts of generative artificial intelligence on business management, government policy, and education, Nikkei Asia reported Friday, citing the firms.

The index will combine Anthropic's data on the use of chat AI with official government statistics and other data, the news outlet said. The partners target to release the index around autumn, according to the report.

Anthropic and the University of Tokyo did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
