Market Chatter: Apollo Global Management in Talks to Acquire Stakes in Atletico Madrid

07:46 AM EDT, 07/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apollo Global Management ( APO ) is in talks to acquire a significant stake in Atletico Madrid in a deal that would value the football club at about 2.5 billion euros ($2.90 billion), Expansion reported Wednesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Sources told the newspaper that Apollo Global Management ( APO ) is negotiating its participation in a capital raising by Atletico Holdco, which owns the majority stake in the club. However, Expansion said there is no guarantee that any deal or transaction will push through.

Apollo Global Management ( APO ) and Atletico Madrid did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
